	Off the west coast of Sardinia, we got talking about the new pressie of the free world, and the Java King dubbed this new main man DJT, which reminded me of that great modern poet of the modern era, Hennery Gibson, oft seen in the 70s on TV's Rowan & Martin Laugh-In, and a short poem that Hennery penned called 'DDT'. So here, for posterity as always, is 'DJT' Inside of me there's DDT It’s been there ever since the Seventies So, if you could see inside of me Then you ’d see DDT Still bothers me, that DDT Is it perhaps like DJT? Making a pesticide o’me? A sexual one maybe? (Which is all right, I guess, if you don’t like humbugs...) Clipping along

	SRC and OPS and other SOL VIPs had a long thread recently about the use of NAM forecast in certain races. It generated a few moments of whimsy. Here goes... use NAM whenever you can, since if you do not, you may help a bot. moreover I feel, we should keep it real, as much as we can, so hence make it NAM, whenever you can... refrain. 	Another few odds and ends from the Ice Exclusion Zone on the way to Melbourne from Cape Town: Hark Skippers, I'm climbing my lectern If you're racing this race down to Melbourne When you reach the approach And you don't have a coach Just Rip and remember the left turn I once had a good friend, a surgeon His incision was into a sturgeon He found it bizarre When he found caviar Cuz' the fish was supposed to be virgin. Actually, 'Melbourne' is not an easy rhyme.

	Another philosophical morning spent at winds between 0.5 and 1 knots somewhere in the Pacific on the way to Hong Kong. 	On trying to circumnavigate Dai Island in 0.85 knots of breeze: Someone - got the spelling all wrong I realized, sailing along Dai Island it's called But that is a fault It is 'Die!', in their local tongue

	Dingo might take the Melbourne to Hong Kong race although it does not look much like it now: When your Future Track looks like a bowsprit And your wake looks much like an armpit You know it'll be Quite a while before we Are racing again and top speed hit. There once was a skipper named Dingo Though not quite a drummer like Ringo He sails his boat fast And never comes last But right now he is dreaming of 'Bingo'

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024

After a superlong RTW-leg3 (27 days), we have had a month to recover, and maintain our boat, in order to continue our around the world race. Leg 4, even longer than the previous, takes us from California to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia. No waypoints, even "the Ditch" is an option, but maybe a bit too much of a treat. With 6300 nm to go, the estimated duration of this race 29 days. This course is also the August edition of our ocean race championship.
