	For all the sailors out there who have dreamed of racing boat v boat with no routing, "steathier" racing, a return to the early days of ocean racing, I propose a set of rules for an unofficial race within the race: * No boats to use software routing * Position and ranking updates will be be available to the fleet 4 times daily in synch with the updates. * Open radio channels... * Honour system and chivalrous behaviour But how?! Install the "Adblock Plus" plugin for Firefox (the Chrome version doesn't work for me, if anyone can suggest methods for other browsers please do!) Add a custom filter for the fleet postions data: Reload and the fleet disappears. Your boat updates and responds normally. When it's time for the fleet to call in, disable blocking, refresh and then re-enable (stopsign icon in upper right). This causes no issues on my machine, and shouldn't affect sailport. 	Looks like it's shaping up! Hi Baggus - we're not using the adblocker to block any ads, but to cloak the fleet. With it turned on, you only see your own boat moving. At call in time, you can optionally turn off the filter and let the fleet positions update before going back to sailing solo. I considered suggesting roll-call only once a day, but with sailors on every continent it doesn't work very well. The updates are a convenient time to allow a peek at the fleet. If we like this style of race then there are other options down the road

Sado Island Sprint 2024

We welcome you to Japan’s Sado island for a PYOC puzzle. Sail port- or starboard-round. The distance may show a bit more than 10 NM as the crow flies but expect to sail at least 45 NM no matter which choice you make, and don’t expect to show ahead of boats watching from the start until you approach the finish.

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!
