	ATTENTION ALL AUSSIE-AND KIWI SOL'ERS!! I'll be happy to set up Practice Race's, matching your time zones, but I need a hint to, what would be a good UTC-time, suitable for the most of you, to execute it. 	22:00 or 12:00 UTC would work for me. Although I won't be partaking in that many.

	Hi Bimmer, first of all, thanks for offering to do this for us folk down-under! Whilst it's currently true that most practice races seem to fall during the bedtime hours for us, I would be unlikely to participate anyway, even if the times were more appropriate. They sound like fun, but my schedule does not permit me to squeeze in any more races. Whenever I look at the results, most competitors seem to be European. Perhaps with their greater numbers, the Statesiders might be more likely to take up your offer in numbers to make it worth your effort. Once again, many thanks for thinking of us! cheers Dingo

	G'day Bimmer, Thanks for the thought. I often see the chat and feel I might enjoy a PR - participants obviously do, but I have never considered doing one. I think I do enough SOLing as it is. I prefer not to suggest times that might suit me because I am not prepared to make a commitment to participate. Meantime I will pay more attention to PR times and may join you in one. Regards Billy

	Hi Bimmer I saw this when it first went up and have been thinking about it for a few days. Let me also express my gratitude for your offer to do this. I didn't want to 'rain on your parade' so to speak but I see the project as a bit like herding cats. Down here we are heading into summer. When not on SOL, we try to go sailing irl. Daylight saving means sunsets at +21:00 and we have a tradition known as WAGS and TAGS (Wednesday Afternoon Go Sailing ... and Tuesday and Thursday at other clubs around the bay). These are informal social races starting late afternoon so people can get to them after work - a lot like PRs on SOL only irl. That is in addition to the real serious sailing on Sat and Sun. Another problem is that from Auckland in the east to Perth in the west is a 5 hour time difference with 6 different time zones during summer. NZ is 2 hrs ahead of Syd and Melb and Billy and I are an hour ahead of Dingo in Brisbane because they do not have daylight saving. The same applies for Aus Central Time (Adelaide and Darwin) with the 2 on different summer times and then Perth is another 2 hours behind. So, for this time of year at least, I don't see many AUS/NZL SOLers fitting PRs into their schedule - this could be different in winter but then, we don't take boats out of the water, we just change to the winter series of regattas or head to the Great Barrier Reef where we sail in shorts and T-shirts all year round. Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!

San Francisco to Ushuaia 2024

After a superlong RTW-leg3 (27 days), we have had a month to recover, and maintain our boat, in order to continue our around the world race. Leg 4, even longer than the previous, takes us from California to the world's southernmost city Ushuaia. No waypoints, even "the Ditch" is an option, but maybe a bit too much of a treat. With 6300 nm to go, the estimated duration of this race 29 days. This course is also the August edition of our ocean race championship.
