AHOY THERE YE RUM SOAKED MAGGOTY SPIT WEASELS!!!



On 19 September at 1600utc Sailonline will be racing to bring rum from the Carib to Mexico and as is now our tradition all SYC Members are invited to adopt a pirate name for this race only.

This is an annual affair, run in close proximity to International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept 19) and, since 2014, promoting Bart's Bash via MustangMark's fundraising

If you are a paid-up SYC Member you may change your usual Sailonline boatnames just within this one race to one influenced by all things piratical! You are free to choose any name you like but remember, Sailonline is a family-friendly site so we reserve the right to disallow names we consider inappropriate.

All requests for such changes will only be actioned if posted in this thread and will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

PLEASE DO CHECK THE 2015 LIST below before submitting a request so that you don't ask for a name already taken by someone else before you!

Please note that the change of boatname for this one race will not affect either your usual login credentials (username and password) or your SYC rankings.

Once the race opens, I will change the boatnames as efficiently as possible!

NOTE: you may join SYC and request a change of name for the race at any time up to and during the Carib Rum Run until race close!

Round Greenland 2024

Just as Skip Novak was embarking for Kamchatsky, Amyr Klink also quietly slipped his Antarctica moorings and by now Paratii 2 has reached Reykjavik, where he invites you to join him on Leg 5 of our High Latitudes Series, a full 3650nm circumnavigation of Greenland. The course is clockwise round, so down the North Atlantic to Cape Farewell, then up the Davis Strait into Baffin Bay and on into the Arctic Ocean proper, where, hopefully and certainly virtually, Paratii 2’s special ice-breaker features will get us thorough the summer ice out onto the Greenland Sea and back to Reykjavik. Stay warm!
